Martin Small was a very special man! I was fortunate enough to meet him at Coal Ridge Middle School 2-3 years ago before he passed away.

I learned about Martin through my membership in Bonai Shalom. I didn't know him well mostly due to not being connected to his friendship circles. However, I would very often see articles about his achievements and his history in local newspapers and learned about him in that way. When one reads about what this brave soul endured throughout his lifetime, it is mind boggling and certainly can teach us about the ability to deal with adversity and our own "mini holocausts" and everyday stresses. May he rest in peace. Bonnie Krim

Mr. Martin Small was a great man. I have been honored to read his biography and pray that peace will come to Israel. I still can not fathom how people think that the holocaust never happened.

Just recently discovered Martin Small z"l and his amazing story through friends from the Suffolk Y JCC in Commack and Temple Anshei Shalom in Delray Beach, FL. As a child of Holocaust survivors Martin's story touched me personally and brought tears to my soul. It also brought much joy to my heart for the life he was able to embrace despite the many horrors he encountered. May the memory of Martin Small always be for a blessing.

Martin, I would just like to thank you for writing this book. I am studying a holocaust module at university called the holocaust in American literature. I recently visited the Jewish museum in Berlin and that is whereI purchased your book. The things you and your family went through are incomprehensible. You are such a wonderful person showing such kindness and compassion especially when you acted in kindness towards the SS officers family. You are a role model to me. I am happy that you are at peace now with your family that were taken away from you. You are an inspiration to humanity, thank you for writing the book. It has changed the way I think as a person. You are missed by all.
